Legal environmental education from the university to the community

Abstract

Legal environmental education in communities constitutes an instrument to achieve the organization of all factors in order to represent the interests of the residents and for them to acquire greater power and control over the other components of the environment. It empowers social actors, among whom environmental promoters play a determining role, while, with the understanding of the law, they offer knowledge, habits, skills, values, attitudes and modes of action for the education of the citizen's personality to In order to make them responsible in making decisions regarding environmental problems, in this sense, a set of actions is proposed from the training of primary education professionals, who become environmental promoters, to encourage the use of environmental legislation in communities. . Its objective: to propose a pedagogical strategy that favors legal environmental education from the university to the community, this is implemented through the Network of Environmental Promoters for Life (RPAV), in the training of primary education professionals, considering the framework environmental law of Cuba and the extension function of the university. The strategy goes from the systematization of the theoretical references and the community diagnosis, to the design of the proposal for its implementation. The theoretical and practical validity of the actions was demonstrated through consultation with specialists and their introduction into pedagogical practice.
