The gender focus, an imperative in the educational institutions in Dominican Republic

The article explores the topic of the gender approach in educational practice in the Dominican Republic. Such training aspect constitutes a task and a purpose for the different educational institutions, recognized in the Constitution of the Republic and the policies derived in the country, which declare the gender equality plan. In this sense, it is intended to socialize the actions corresponding to the execution stage of a pedagogical strategy aimed at promoting the gender approach in the educational institutions of the Dominican Republic from the teacher's preparation. A methodology with a qualitative approach is applied, which is based on the modeled actions to verify their impact in practice, through empirical methods such as interviews, surveys and observations. In summary, substantial transformations are evident in educational institutions in the context of the Dominican Republic, which contribute to the preparation of teachers, to develop equitable bonds among students, which allow identifying and overcoming sexist education, favoring equity between men and women in the school, family and social context. The evaluations and behaviors of teachers, essential managers to achieve full, harmonious and equitable development in educational institutions, are expressed in total coherence, which reveals the relevance of the actions proposed.
