The incorporation of virtual environments has transformed postgraduate medical education; however, a significant gap persists in detailed evidence, with few descriptive studies documenting the implementation and effectiveness of comprehensive virtual strategies in specific contexts, such as the training of Family Medicine residents within the Cuban healthcare system, particularly in university polyclinics with potential technological limitations. The objective of this study was to evaluate the academic results and the level of satisfaction of the Family Medicine resident physicians of the Juana Naranjo León University Polyclinic of Sancti Spíritus after the implementation of a virtual course during the 2023-2024 academic year. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted using theoretical, empirical, and statistical methods, with instruments validated by experts. Examination results revealed high grades and a predominant level of satisfaction with distance learning. These findings indicate that the virtual educational intervention evaluated was effective for developing professional skills in Family Medicine. The integration of interactive materials, clinical simulations, and digital tutoring proved to be a viable didactic alternative, associated with high academic performance and resident satisfaction, which requires continuous refinement in postgraduate medical training.
